One has to keep in mind that leaky gut occurs as a result of inflammation in the gut lining. The inflammation is caused due to food intolerances, drug ingestion, bacterial and viral infections and stress. The inflammation when cause in the gut allows allow macro food particles and other foreign microbes to enter the body. this in turn will cause an immune response reulting in allergies and .

Probiotics is a term that is commonly referred to the factor that could be added to the diet to enhance the friendly bacteria to live in the intestine. These bacteria help in improving immunity and help to heal gut infections. This reduces the amount of toxic by-products in the bowel. The important good bacteria in the diet are the lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus.

To prevent the overgrowth of the disease that is associated with the micro-organisms such as E-coli the intestinal tract must have at least 85 percent of the friendly bacteria. If the harmful bacteria outnumber the good bacteria then the toxins that are ejected by the intestine will again be reabsorbed by the body which increases the overall percentage of the toxins.

The symptoms that follow are poor digestion, flatulence, bloating, and vomiting and even gut dysbiosis can occur. Probiotics is generally used in treating intestinal diseases like dysbiosis, leaky gut syndrome, and various harmful intestinal bugs and even candida. Probiotic supplementation is specifically helpful in restoring the gut to a health, and balances the good and the bad bacteria that have to be present in the body.
